Director Physical Planning and Development


The Physical planning Unit is another arm of Office of the Vice Chancellor, responsible for the Physical Planning and Development of the University, Works Maintenance and Procurement.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS

The Directorate of Physical Planning and Development is responsible for the maintenance of Physical facilities of the University, Supervision of the Construction of buildings and other infrastructure, procurement and full implementation of the University Master Plan.

The Directorate is also responsible to the Vice Chancellor in the discharge of the following functions.

  • Formulating divisional strategy, planning and controlling activities of Directorate of Physical Planning and Development;
  • Development of Physical Infrastructure;
  • Acquisition, operation and routine maintenance of all the University movable and immovable assets;
  • Interpretation and periodic review of the master plan;
  • Valuation and implementation of capital projects;
  • Preparation of estimates and returns on projects to Government and other funding Agencies for grants;
  • Preparation of estimates and returns on projects to Government and other funding Agencies for grants;
  • Planning and control of the technical activities;
  • Advising the Vice Chancellor on the acquisition, operation and maintenance of all assets register of the University;
  • Keeps inventory of the University vehicles, plants and equipment;
  • Inventory of houses, properties and their maintenance;
  • Any other duties assigned to the Directorate by the Vice Chancellor.
